June 19, 2014 – Fiskars partners with Duck brand duct tape to introduce non-stick scissors

Whether you’re personalizing a school project or creating one-of-a-kind apparel and accessories with duct tape, every crafter needs a great pair of scissors.  To help people spend more time creating and less time struggling with sticky scissors, Fiskars and Duck brand duct tape have partnered to introduce Fiskars Duck Edition scissors to the North American market.

Crafting and creating with duct tape is a rapidly growing trend that is taking the crafting community by storm. Hobbyists are doing everything from decorating furniture to creating unique bags and clothes from duct tape but one of the biggest challenges to working and duct tape is the sticky residue it leaves on the scissor blades when cutting strips of tape to use. Fiskars Duck Edition scissors feature a non-stick blade coating to cut through sticky adhesives without gummy build-up and blades optimized to make perfect cuts every time on a variety of materials including strong, sticky Duck brand duct tapes.

“The Duck Tape crafting phenomenon continues to grow, and, as always, it’s our mission to listen to duct tape users and provide the tools they need to personalize their creations,” said Shelley Price, director of marketing for DIY Tapes at ShurTech Brands, LLC, the company that markets Duck Tape. “Partnering with a tried-and-true brand like Fiskars helps us offer another great way for crafters to complete their projects with style.”

“Both Duck brand duct tape and Fiskars share a commitment to creating innovative products that help people express their creativity,” said Jay Gillespie, Fiskars vice president of brand marketing. “This partnership is a perfect fit, and we’re looking forward to giving enthusiasts tools that make creating with Duck Tape easier than ever before.”

Available in 12cm for detailed cuts and 20cm for longer cuts, Fiskars Duck Edition scissors help crafters express their individuality and make projects uniquely their own.
