Garden innovation helps build further market share

Fiskars' Garden business area is committed to developing ergonomically designed tools that make gardening both a joy and more productive. This drive to innovate has resulted in a steady increase in market share and has positioned Fiskars as the top-selling brand of garden cutting tools.

The garden is increasingly popular in many parts of the world. A green backyard or balcony serves as an extension of the livingroom, creating an optimal space for relaxing, cooking or working.

Fiskars cutting tools for the garden are acclaimed for being innovative: their power-transfer technology doubles cutting power while their ergonomic design guarantees ease of use. The range includes pruners, loppers, universal cutters, grass and hedge shears as well as axes, other forestry and snow tools.

In addition to Fiskars®, the Group has several strong local brands specialized in gardening products.

Net sales of the Garden business area were 231 million euro in 2009. The business area employed 1,377 people as of the end of 2009.
