Gerber Bear Grylls - taking to the wild
In 2010, Fiskars' renowned outdoor brand Gerber joined forces with the British adventurer Bear Grylls. The goal of the collaboration was to create top-notch equipment for the most demanding adventurers and hikers. By combining Gerber's 70 years of knife and tool manufacturing expertise with Grylls' long experience of extreme conditions, a supreme line of outdoor gear was launched.
Gerber Bear Grylls is a unique collection of knives, tools, and kits designed to help the most adventurous hikers and trekkers survive the most extreme conditions the planet can throw at them. Take the intricately designed Ultimate Knife, for example, loaded with innovations that won't be found in any other fixed blade knife. Or the Parang, a modern update of the machete traditionally used by jungle tribesmen. Each of the items in the series also includes Bear Grylls' invaluable Priorities of Survival pocket guide, a great resource for bold spirits taking to the wild.
Bear Grylls - the man, the myth
Bear Grylls has always lived for extreme situations. After breaking his back in three places in a parachuting accident, he fought his way to recovery, and two years later entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest, aged only 23. He has since led ground-breaking expeditions across the world, and his passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors are now shared and enjoyed through his TV programs in over 150 different countries, reaching over one billion people worldwide.
As Bear himself says of the collection: "I'm really proud of this range. It puts Gerber's 70-year heritage alongside my experience of some of the world's most extreme jungles, mountains, and deserts. It's simple, practical, easy-to-use kit and ultimately - it works. I hope you enjoy it."
