Forest and real estate assets
ensure a stable foundation
Fiskars Real Estate is responsible for administering and developing the company's 15,000 hectares of land and 3,700 hectares of water, most of which are located in and around Fiskars Village and the Hankoniemi peninsula. Real Estate also handles the leasing of buildings owned by Fiskars, which include houses and workshops and Fiskars' production plants in Finland. Real Estate also takes an active part in developing the Raasepori area.
The company's birthplace, in the shape of the ironworks founded in 1649 and now known as Fiskars Village, forms a central part of operations for the Real Estate business area. The roots of the land owned in the area go back to the early days of the ironworks, when the river flowing through the region and the surrounding forest provided the power and charcoal needed for ironmaking. Today, Fiskars Village is known internationally as a center for the arts and design, and attracts around 150,000 visitors annually.
The strategy of the Real Estate business area is based on the principles of sustainable development, in line with Fiskars' 360-year history. Operations are designed to benefit both people and nature, and help create a sustainable foundation for business over the long term.
