Inspiration scissors - even classics can enjoy a makeover

Fiskars' new Inspiration range is a refreshing innovation in the world of scissors - the ergonomic handles of these high quality scissors are brightened up by colorful patterns created by Finnish designers. The handles are made using a completely new process in which the design and the color are embedded in the material itself. This technique was seen for the first time in the Moomin scissors launched by Fiskars in early August, 2010.

The new designs, Gloria, Bloom and Seaflower, each draw on nature for their inspiration, but in three distinct styles. Design agency Provoke is behind the Gloria and Seaflower designs, while Bloom is the brainchild of designer Teija Puranen.

How do you improve on perfection?

Fiskars is the world's number one scissor brand. The orange-handled scissors for which the brand is famous have sold more than 1 billion pieces worldwide and their iconic status has resulted in the Fiskars orange being synonymous with scissors wherever one looks.

Not content to rest on their laurels, however, Fiskars is constantly looking for innovative designs and production techniques. The Inspiration range is born out of this relentless push for quality. These patterned scissors are intended to complement personal interior design styles, and also make an excellent gift for design-conscious friends.

Fiskars wanted to make individual scissors for consumers who value high quality. After a long product development process, we have found a method that works and which brings a new look to the scissors without cutting back on functionality or quality.
